Financial Service Representative
Encino, CA

For our Encino location we are seeking a seasoned Financial Service Representative. This position provides high-level client service and operational support to client inquiries via incoming calls, in-person visits, email or mail.  Responsible for opening all types of new accounts and handling other account related or deposit related requests.  Resolves client inquires/complaints and identifies cross-sell opportunities by assessing client needs.  Works directly with clients in all areas of operations (e.g. check and savings inquiries, loan payments, wires, transfers, CDs, etc.).  Provides clients with accurate and timely information to ensure quality service and client retention.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide clients with account, product and service information in response to inquiries; resolve problems in an accurate and timely manner to ensure quality service and client retention.
  • Independently open new deposit accounts for clients. Explain and review all account documentation and assume responsibility for proper documentation execution.  Send documentation to client and follow up on receipt.
  • Research, analyze and resolve operational problems on client accounts and provide suggestions regarding various Bank services and products.
  • Recognize selling opportunities and effectively cross-sell bank products and services.
  • Perform teller duties of processing, paying and receiving transactions, preparing and processing incoming and outgoing wire transfers, foreign drafts and accepts and verifies large merchant transactions. Ensure client and teller transactions are encoded.
  • Provide operational support to Bank officers regarding their client's accounts. Research transactions and resolve errors.
  • Input, update and maintain client records and files on the Banks core processing system.
  • Process and follow up on new check orders, credit card requests, etc.
  • Provide general reception duties, including:
    • Greet guests and clients provide general direction, determine appropriate area of service.
    • Arrange authorization for building/suite access. Provide parking validation when appropriate.
    • Assist with meeting room set-up, cleanup catering, etc.
    • Perform administrative tasks as assigned.
    • Assist couriers, vendors with delivery acceptance.
    • Distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Understand and adhere to the Bank's Bank Secrecy Act policy and procedures and "know your customer/enhanced due diligence" guidelines.
  • Brings any suspicious activity to the attention of a supervisor, or the Bank Secrecy Act Officer.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge and may train others on products, services, departmental systems, and related technology, policies and procedures.
  • Follow all Bank policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

 

Basic Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 1-5 years' experience in a client service or operations management function of a bank or financial institution.
  • Minimum of 1+ years' experience working with new accounts in a bank or financial institution.
  • General knowledge of bank product and services and support systems.
  • Strong client service and sales skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills, including ability to deal professionally with branch issues, problems, and questions.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of clients, staff, and management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and to work independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; good organizational, research and follow-up skills.
  • Requires the ability to exercise independent judgment and employ basic reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work successfully in a deadline driven, team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
